Books

Books and papers I have read, am reading or plan to read, some with opinions and or comments, some without.

The Handmaid's Tale

By Margaret Atwood
Very scary book, love the attention to detail on how this regime change and the whole shenanigans unfolded. Scary how fast and efficient the eyes work and the new state is accepted.

I always loved spy thrillers, this one was peak and even better than the movie. It really does feel like its from the 80s right out of the warmer parts of the cold war, especially loved the attention to the rules of engagement when they were hunting red octobers hunters

Neuromancer

By William Gibson
Interesting to see how much the cyberpunk2077 universe was inspired by this book, interesting writing style, I'd call it an acquired taste. Love the slang and the implant talk though

The Sheep Look Up

By John Brunner
Not fully read yet, thusfar feels like the real world, just slightly exaggerated, selling air will always be my most loved dystopian trope

Oryx and Crake

By Margaret Atwood
Not fully read yet, but hated exploring the backstory of oryx very much, woudlve loved to skip that part, otherwise crazy world building and weird to think about breeding animals for the purpose of harvesting organs
